Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This app ("we", "our") provides weather-based outdoor activity recommendations — sunshine, surfing, hiking, and snow — based on your location. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about the data we use.

2. Location Data

We request access to your device's GPS location solely to generate activity recommendations and display your position on the map. Location data is:

• Used only in-session to compute nearby results.
• Stored locally on your device (not uploaded to our servers).
• Never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking.

You may also manually drop a pin on the map instead of granting GPS access. Location permission is optional — the app works with a pinned location.

3. Account Information

If you create an account, we store your email address and display name to personalise your experience and save your favourites. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled securely by the Base44 platform.

Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time via the user menu (tap your initials → "Delete Account"). Deleting your account permanently removes all your data including saved favourites.

4. Data Providers

We use the following third-party services to power the app:

• Open-Meteo — weather forecasts (temperature, cloud cover, wind, precipitation). Requests include only coordinates, no personal data. Open-Meteo terms.
• MET.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute) — supplementary weather data for Nordic regions. Coordinates only, no personal data. MET.no privacy.
• OpenRouteService — drive-time estimation. Only origin/destination coordinates are sent, no personal data.
• OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — map tiles. Standard tile requests do not include personal data.
• Base44 — backend infrastructure, authentication, and database. Base44 privacy policy.

5. Analytics

We collect basic, anonymised usage analytics (e.g. which mode was searched, number of results shown) to improve the app. These events do not contain personal identifiers, precise location, or any data that can identify you as an individual.

6. Device Features We Do NOT Use

The following device features are not accessed by this app:

• Camera or microphone
• Photos or media library
• Push notifications
• Contacts or calendar
• Bluetooth or NFC
• Motion or fitness sensors

We only request location access (GPS), and only when you choose to use it.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage to remember your last search location and preferences (pinned map location, selected mode). No tracking cookies are used.

8. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
